Dan Flom

General Manager
Private Pilot, Retired Naval Flight Officer, and Navigation Instructor

Dan is a US Navy Veteran Naval Flight Officer, Mission Commander and Instrument/Navigation Instructor.

He was introduced to flying at the age of 12 when his father bought a Cessna 195.  Dan “flew it” never able to actually see over the instrument panel.  He’s been hooked on flying ever since, and earned his Private Pilot License while serving in the Navy.

Dan has almost 2,500 hours flying and instructing in Navy P3 sub-hunter and Air Force T43 training aircraft.  Almost 2,000 of those hours are “Cross Country” hours over the Pacific Ocean, the South China Sea, and the Indian Ocean.  Dan participated in the Vietnam “Boat People” Search & Rescue missions and is credited with finding and saving lives.

After the Navy, Dan led a full civilian career as a Technical Instructor, certified Project Manager, and certified Procurement Professional in the High-Tech world.

As a 500-hour private pilot, Dan owns and flies a vintage de Havilland Chipmunk warbird based at the Auburn Airport. He displays it at airshows and fly-ins to attract attention to aviation.

Dan is an active Young Eagles volunteer pilot.  And, he knows how to use a sextant for airborne Celestial Navigation!
